Friday Night With Friends... & A Chick-Flick

I hope none of you lovely FNWF girls took offense that I watched a movie while stitching for
You see, some movies, I just have to watch when they come on telly, regardless of how many times I have seen it already... like The Holiday... Kate, Jack, Cameron & Jude make for a nice bit of fluff while the needle & thread are in action...
My efforts for FNWF bring to an end the stitching of all the 12 stitcheries for my Charmed I'm Sure table runner...

The little heart shaped flowers are supposed to be satin-stitched, but I gave that a miss or else I would still be stitching it in 2023! Next stage of course is to layer it up & quilt it...

There was still some evening left, so started playing with my fabrics for the 12-Inch Mini Quilt of Easter theme...

During the week I played nurse again - this time for mrHS, who had a titanium post put in his mouth on Wed, as preparation for a tooth implant. Yes, my family have a 'teeth thing' at the moment don't they?! (Good thing he is recovering well; must be all the round-the-clock two-hourly ice pack changes & pain med management from his nurse!) So a relaxed evening of stitching was exactly what I needed...

Thank you so much Cheryll for hosting us all for a lovely evening of stitching, can't wait to see what the other ladies worked on... here's the list of names...

For those of you who may not be familiar with this concept of Friday Night With Friends, here's the low-down...
During the 1st week of each month, Cheryll at Gone Stitchin' publishes a 'linky' on her blog...  all you need to do is register yourself on that linky... do what ever is your choice of crafting on that 1st Friday night of the month, & then blog about it over the weekend.
It's great to set aside some time to go visit the other ladies who joined in, & also to have them come check out what you did too. Easy!

I am in awe of all your stitchery work. I used to have time to do them but not for the last few years so it's rare that I do any handwork. Love your blocks :-)

The stitching on your runner is lovely. We wouldn't have known about the satin stitch if you didn't tell us........sometimes finished is more important than following the pattern exactly. Hope Mr Hibiscus is feeling better soon.

Ouch for Mr HS. Your table runner looks terrific and I do the same thing as you regarding the satin stitch ... I've never mastered that stitch.

Happy Birthday my friend! I guess it's already tomorrow (Monday) on your side of the world. And I'm guessing your package hasn't arrived yet? I always seem to misjudge how long it takes something to wing its way to Australia. I'm sorry I'm late, but it should be there very soon. Party on!!

I love those fabrics yoh are playing with for the mini. I just started my Easter mini yesterday. Your stitchery is so sweet. It is good to keep stitching fun by doing it the way you feel comfortable with. Satin stitch is easy once you give it a go though.
