The Chookshed Party... My Friday

So there I was... in my kitchen... making Mocha Brownies... baking Whole Orange Cake with Zesty Citrus Icing... excited for the weekend ahead... & The Site Manager starts making a heck of a commotion at the front door.

I go to check it out & look who it is...
Mr Harold Blue, his wife Mrs Hen-rietta & their chickens James & Penelope!

And look who came with them... eccentric Grandma Violet...
She shrinks from nothing & no one... especially dressed like that!
(see, my plan for that fabric did work out, woo hoo!)

While the family had a peck around out the back, stretching their legs after a long drive, Grandma Violet stayed in to check out some of the things I'll be working on during the weekend... there's quilt binding to turn over & stitch into place...
A whopping big pile of HSTs to trim down to 4½inches...
There will need to be some secret sewing too & I've not quite worked out what else.

The cake-y & slice-y goodness is ready & smelling heavenly... Mrs Henrietta & Penelope gave their approval...
So there, the chooks are here for the Chook Party Weekend & everything is organised!

Cuteness overload! I'll have to make sure my little chook partakes of the partying!! I'm working on piecing some sampler blocks, have a stack of quilting to do, can work on cross stitch or embroidery. No lack of projects for the party! And there's rain in the forecast for the weekend, so no need to feel guilty about staying in to stitch. See you at the party!!
