Wednesdays & Flowers

I have decided what to do about my recent fascination with paper-pieced hexagons...

I've been making hexy's petals for a few weeks now, using the fabrics that I 'discovered' a while back in my fabric storage. I haven't had a plan on what to do with them, but it's been really enjoyable to make a pile of petals once a week or so. (I don't remember anything about buying those fabrics, but clearly I purchased them over a period of time, gauging by the dates on some receipts I found!)

The other night whilst basting, it all came together in my head. My plan now is, to use a few different green fabrics as flower centres, make all these petals up into flowers & when there's enough, make a quilt that can drape on my sofa.

I do believe that I have enough fabric in this forgotten stash, that I won't need to buy anything to make this quilt, except paper pieces. And I know it will take me ages, but that's fine - I cross stitch too, so I'm used to things that takes ages!

So I have decided to join up with One Flower Wednesday, & enjoy having a look at the wonderful flowers of other gardeners. Thanks Leanne for your advice with getting the link onto my side bar, & thanks Karen for your advice & friendly welcome.

I am in NO WAY a gardener, but this type of garden is more my style. So pop in on a Wednesday, see what's blooming...

Well hello there... and a belated welcome to the wonderful world of blogging :) Your hexies are going to be gorgeous made up, and it's an awesome feeling to use up some stash! I'm a lot like you... my making of things never keeps up with the rate I purchase new goodies, but I'm trying hard to use up some stuff ( even though really its just to make some room hahaha!) thanks so much for leaving a comment for me... I really appreciate you taking the time.
