Mug Rug Swap... Gone to The US...

Recently I took part in the Mug Rug Swap, over at Quilting Mumma...
My partner was Martha who has a lovely blog Living Life, she's in Louisana, USA...

Having never made a mug rug before, I had a good look at some wonderful tutorials & inspiring images online, then came up with these...

These fabrics are from my overload, taking up on Martha's love of gardening & using some of
her favourite colours. The stitchery is taken from a Leanne Beasley design

I did buy this fabric, how fantastic is it?! I used it as a backing, as it picks up on Martha's enjoyment
of quilt making...

The lace is from the wonderful collection of sewing items I came into from my darling Nan after she passed away. She probably bought the lace in the 1970's...
I also included in my package a couple of bags of the new Australian Afternoon Tea from Twinings.
It's been lovely to meet yet another new bloggy friend!

I have an extra-long weekend now - no school for the kids today & then a public holiday on Monday, whoopee for me!

Charming and fresh mug rugs. I'm sure Martha will love them. Very thoughtful of you to check her blog to see what she would like. I didn't know Twinings had a new tea out - will check it out.
It was lovely meeting you at the show.
