Wet Wednesday Flowers

It rained quite a lot here yesterday - finally - so I had to dodge raindrops to take this pic...

Two more blooms for the Quilt of Forgotten Fabrics... I think I only have about 6 or so to make for it, then I will start thinking about how to put it all together. It won't be big, but it will be a conversation piece...
Is it cheating to do machine stitching on a hexy quilt?
Thanks Karen for hosting our weekly Garden Party, it's lovely see some gorgeous blooms even though where I live it's currently winter & there's not much blooming going on in the garden... although my natives are looking rather fabulous & I have cheeky little Kangaroo Paws popping up where I did not put them!

Speaking of rain, my part of Western Australia has been having the driest driest winter for a very long time... and the cold weather we've had recently is also a record. News reports last week said our dams are at 29%, which is a scary prospect for our summer supplies. I am crossing my fingers for a very wet end to winter & a super-wet spring... for farmers, gardens & dams... Severe water restrictions will no doubt be in place for summer in WA.

So how wet has your Aussie winter been? I'm very interested about what's going on in other parts of our country...

And finally, THANK YOU again to everyone who has commented & messaged their support of my Polka Dot Girls post. With so much support & encouragement, I cannot fail! Really, I'm blown away...

I have had a message from another PDG-maker, that she (possibly) recalls some problems in the cutting instructions somewhere, so if anyone who had made this quilt can give me any further info, I'd appreciate it. You all know I am NOT a quilt maker, & may not see these issues until I am scratching my head in confusion...

That's it for this long post

Beautiful hexies Anthea, now you have the big task of putting the quilt together.
Here in Tassie has been the wettest winter we have had for ages, the back yard is soggy and the garden is so wet but we had a beautiful sunny day today so roll on Spring.

I really like the fabrics you use for your hexieflowers. What size are your hexagons?

Ooooooh! Those greens! They look absolutely marvelous with that plant behind them.....since I am mostly a machine quilter I will definitely give you the ok to machine stitch, and as Karen says....."do as you wish".........after all, it's your quilt.......can't wait to see it!

Great hexies - I'm not sure about the rain aspect of our winter but in Brisbane we have just had the coldest August day in 5 years or so. A crisp 4.6C. But a maximum of 22 or so.
PS - machine stitch all you want - its your choice after all.
