Another Purse...

Today I have started work on a Wristlet Zipper Purse, a design from the book,
Bags the Modern Classics.
The purse is for my daughter who just fell in love with the Japanese-style fabrics I used when making a purse recently for a swap item.... and she loves purple...
So quick to make too

This book is brilliant... the instructions are very clear, it's well illustrated (I'm a pics girl!), and there is a huge variety of designs. Each design is also shown made up in several colourways, which is great to get ideas from... AND.... even the zips are not scary! (yes I'm being honest!)

I am really looking forward to the school holidays... whilst I have been enjoying my work in the last 5 weeks, I am finding it tiring on top of all the usual domestic stuff. Bring on the break!

I am still a bit scared of zippers.....just have to keep practicing. Enjoy your holidays, hope you get lots of time to relax.

its going to look stunning. my zip tip, from when i used to make all my own clothes, is to put the zip in before doing the seams etc. they always look better when they are hand basted or tacked rather than pinned as it produces an even edge with no puckering or pulling. the zipper foot is also a must.

Ooo- I love the purple! Zippers usually scare me, so that's quite a feat.

Lovely...I like the way you've featured the crane in the centre of the bag...

Lovely purse and very clever to have the crane front and centre :)
