One Flower Wednesday... The Next Stage

Many of you will be familiar with my ramblings about The Quilt of Forgotten Fabrics.
This all started earlier in the year when I was searching for some fabric, so I could teach myself hexagons.
I came across a bag of fabrics that I had totally & completely forgotten I even had, hence the name I have given this project... every piece was 30cm, most still had the shop receipt with it, the most recent receipt being from around 1996...

So I set to, having decided to make 2 hexy flowers from each of the fabrics. I  had thought perhaps of using those flowers to make some kind of throw/lap quilt to sling over the sofa. Now, some of those fabrics were so awful that I didn't use them, and now they are collage in the Kindergarten!
I have made in total 36 flowers from the fabrics that were anywhere near ok & this is the result....

I am indeed decided on making them into a throw for the sofa, & now that I see what I have to work with, I even have an idea in my head of how to put it all together.... hopefully without adding to its already psychedelic feel!
I also call this project The Quilt That Taste Forgot... or if I am feeling kind, The Super Scrappy 80s 90s Quilt.

Thank You Karen, who hosts the linky each week for One Flower Wednesday.  There are great flowers to see each week from those of us who make hexagon flowers... Karen herself  is piecing together her hexagon flower quilt top, and it's coming along beautifully...

Now I'm off to finish the purse from the previous  post...
~Happy Wednesday Everyone~

This is my 96th post, is it time for me to plan my first giveaway?!

We all have some cringe worthy fabrics, but they always look better when sewn. Your flowers look good.

Your hexies look terrific. They all look so nice together. Well done. Making one flower a week was a great way of getting a quilt together.

I think they look great - and even if they were ugly to start with - by the time you cut them into small bits they are usually a lot less ugly.
