There is a first time for everything...
these words ended my previous post, & now I will show you what those words mean...
In February, whilst going through my magazine tear-outs & such like, mr12 saw something he very much liked the look of... and asked me to make it for him. "Sure, it will take a while, but yes, why not" said I.
Oh goodness, that was rather ambitious of me to agree so readily, main reason being that I had never made a QUILT before. However, not to be beaten on the issue, I reminded myself that I am all about learning & challenging myself, so off I set to get the fabrics, & make a start.
The top for this quilt featured in one my earliest blog posts, & has sat quietly, just waiting for me to develop the confidence & knowledge to progress it. Confidence & a little knowledge acquired, all that was left was to dive in & DO IT!!

Of course the site manager was working too, making sure of quality control & snuggle factor.
Golly it was hard work... my knees & back were complaining very loudly, with all that pinning. But now it is ready to sew. And thanks to some great advice from my bloggy friend Suzi, I think I will do an OK job of it... THIS WILL BE MY FIRST EVER QUILT!
It will be a nice distraction to work on while my daughters both have exams, and I will have one very happy mr12 when it's all done.... he's calling it The Man Quilt... very apt, don't you think?
(hopefully he will still be 12 when it's finished, LOL!)
