On Tuesday I bought the background fabric for my Quilt Of Forgotten Fabrics (QOFF)...
I cut it to 7inch squares, and this afternoon I have been sewing away happily, using machine applique to stitch a flower on each square.
The plan is to stitch 6 rows of 6 blocks, & if I think it needs something extra like a border, to make it a better size, I will decide on it then. It's to become some sort of throw for the sofa. There will also be a single hexagon at each block corner. I'm sticking to the Think-& Plan-As-I-Go method here!
Site Manager working hard, or is that hardly working?! |

I think you'll be surprised how good the forgotten fabrics look together when you're finished.
Now that is great way to put hexies together, no more hand sewing YES!!!!!
Looks great
Love the material
I can visualise how you are putting it together and it will look wonderful. Love the site manager. I will have two supervisors today as the cat is being really clingy already and it isnt even 6am yet!
they look lovely on their background fabrics. I am debating whether to put my novelty fabric hexies together on plain backgrounds with sashings. I don't want to make heaps of stepping stone hexies to put them together. so will watch your progress keenly to see how they come together. I like your think, plan as you go method!
Love the think, plan as you go method...and don't under-estimate
the site manager, I quite often manage the household like this...lol
They look great Andrea. Your site manager is adorable. Hugs,
The hexie flowers on the white background really makes them stand out... it will look lovely...
Hugz
Just love your fabrics bright fun and fresh on the white background.
Your hexies look great Anthea....but have been a big day for the site Manager...LOL
I love your hexagon block, I look forward to seeing how this one turns out!
Looking good!
That is a brilliant idea Anthea. I have made flowers from my scraps to make the Vignette hexie quilt but they make me shudder to think of them side by side. White blocks like that would make a whole lot of difference & might mean I have enough made. I ay have to borrow your idea! Tracee xx
