Yipee! My SSCS Has Arrived...

Oooo, some goodies have arrived to me, in the form of my Secret Santa Christmas Swap parcel.
It has made the journey all the way from Norway...Anne Heidi at her blog Piece By Piece.
Check out my sweet Christmas ornament, hopefully the Snowman will bring a sense of 'cool' to our hot Aussie summertime Christmas
Now only to wait a short few weeks to see what lovely gift is in the other parcel, exciting!
Thank You Anne Heidi

I have been taking advantage of some great online shopping lately, buying some lovely fabrics and patterns for projects to work on next year. Among my purchases I have bought some lovely Nancy Halvorsen Christmas-themed fabrics (why did no one tell me her fabrics are SO gorgeous?!) and only days later the pattern for this festive cushion...
it's from The Birdhouse... yes, you know I love a hexagon project! I didn't realise that the fabrics I bought are from the same range featured on this cushion...
I'm sure I know that I don't need any more patterns & fabrics for myself, however I am already thinking ahead to gifts & swaps, & such, so being prepared is a good thing. Well, that's what I'm telling myself anyway, ha ha.

Oh, & there IS actually stitching going on here but not much... I'm stitching down the binding for the QOFF, and it's looking fab.
Whoever invented thimbles should be given a sainthood, my fingers would be in bad shape without one...

Oh lucky us! I have Anne Heidi too. I think she is one of Chooky's special elves. Your decoration is lovely too. I'm so looking forward to Christmas Day.

Fabulous ornie you got... I also just got some Nancy H fabrics... I have had a few but want to start getting them regularly... apparently her colours always go with each other so they are perfect to mix and match year after year????

As I shiver here in France, it seems to odd to imagine you sweltering in December.

Lovely fabrics, and lovely snowman too.

Lovely ornie, Anthea. Looks like you know what you're going to be working on in 2013 - can't wait to see your pix.

Goodness - all that planning. However, as we are off to UK next week I have been busy ordering online goodies to be delivered to us there - stuff I either can not buy here in France or that is cheaper there. Next Wednesday is going to be so exciting - lots of pachages to unwrap, it will almost be like Christmas!

Such a beautiful ornament and I agree the cushion and your fabrics etc sound wonderful and you do have to get them this time of year too. Thimbles - can't wear them they annoy the heck out of me lol.
