Some Pre-Cut Yums...

I have never sewn with any sort of pre-cut fabric, but it seems that is going to change... recently I have been gifted or won a gorgeous selection of mini-charms (is that the right term?) and some 5inch charm packs too...

Leanne-Lizzie the Quilter sent me these 2½inch squares in our Easter swap - they are so cute!

These gorgeous batik print packs are from Danette-Quilting Chemist. Danette had a big giveaway recently in celebration of her blog reaching a 2 Year Milestone. She added the sweet little squares to the parcel I won...

There is a giveaway chance each month for those who join in the Birthday-Love Stash, the brainchild of Wendy at Sugarlane Quilts, & I was the lucky winner of April's prize...

Lucky me with all this goodness....
Looks like I will have to keep my eyes peeled for patterns or ideas of what to do with them all!

What do you like making with pre-cut fabrics?

Homespun magazine (Aus) have recently published the first new-look copy of the magazine. Is it just me, or does this magazine feel 'different' to you? Perhaps it's just that I will need to adjust to the new styling of it.

I promise this is the last storm pic... Yesterday, I snapped these guys... they breed 'em mad in my town, so I guess that beach fishing in 100kmh winds & 5ft waves is just the thing to do!
(I must be almost as mad, considering I was out there photographing them, LOL)

You're on a bit of a roll Anthea. I received my Homespun and I've only had a quick flick through it so far. I did notice it doesn't have the Homespun Curiosity any more. I will read it tonight and see what I think. I'm not too sure about it either!

The only problem with precuts is that sometimes they look too lovely to use! Have fun with yours.

I have made all sorts of things out of pre-cuts, table runners, toppers, quilts. I have made journal covers out of the mini charms.Have fun using them. I felt the same as you when I read my Homespun. Will have to see if I feel the same next issue. Can't really put my finger on why. Hugs....

I wasn't that impressed with the new homespun format. Seemed a little too busy and I miss the glossy pages and pictures.
Love the beach when it is stormy so I don't think you are all mad.
now what are all those pre cuts going to become?

Yes, you have been lucky lately. There are a few books out there on what to do with pre-cuts, but I'm sure Mr Google has some ideas.
I saw a copy of Homespun last weekend and I love the pages (not so shiny and good for reading under lights)but there is a lot of white space!!!

I love the paper that Homespun is now printed on. Great for night time reading but I am with Heather, there seems to be a whole lot of blank spaces. I'd also like the Editor bit to come back !

You have lots of lovely squares there. I like to make tote bags with them. I have yet to see the new Homespun mag but I do hate change.

Congrats on your little win and enjoy having a play with your pre-cuts. Mum subscribed to homespun only until the xmas BOM is finished. SHe is not impressed with it at all and after a very quick flick I have noticed that the format is very different and the projects are more vintage in style. I don't mind the matt paper but not sure I like it much either. Will have to have a better look at it I think.

Congrat's on all your pre-cut wins, I love to make bags, quilts and runners with mine. I too am not too sure of the new look Homespun, just didn't "feel" the same when I looked through it :) Barb.
