A Stunning Day & A Finish Too...

Today is the perfect dry winter day in my part of the world... cold & sunny... but just warm enough to get some washing dry... and get some great pics...

This morning... great cafe & even better company... did you know that cake shared with very special people doesn't contain any calories?!
The seagulls are doing their morning yoga... or perhaps it's their version of pole dancing... can you see the little fellow standing on one leg?
After that it was perfect timing to get pics of the baby boy quilt... finished it on Saturday afternoon...
I bought this panel and the co-ordinating backing at least three years ago... so it's about time I made it up & got it OUT of The Overload... Plus, there is barely a scrap of left over fabric...I love doing panels... they make this non-quilt maker seem to have better skills than she actually has... & look great with the simplest stitching & quilting...
Happy with the machine binding... quick & easy...

Now just to wait and find out if they have a boy... if not, well there will always be the baby girl quilt I am starting work on this evening!

Update: After consulting with the Sew It's Finished rulebook (aka Wendy) I am counting this towards my SIF number for the year.

At some time or other there will be a very happy new mum of a boy receiving that gorgeous little quilt. Panels are great for young ones.Definitely no calories in your cake or coffee.

I wish you would stop calling yourself a non quilt maker! You do great projects, and that little quilt will be loved by a little boy. Looks like you had a lovely morning out.

Lovely boys quilt. Next time I have coffee with someone I must order a bigger slice of cake if that's the case. Hugs......

I am afraid you have to call yourself a quilt maker with the lovely quilts you are making, you can't escape the title! You even went to the quilt show-
you have done a great job of the panel quilt and it looks fabulous. That machine sewn binding looks tricky, you would have to make sure it is perfect.
well done!

Anthea I think you have definitely crossed the line between non quilter and quilter. I think panels are perfect for quilts that will be used by mothers - else they sit looking pretty and are never used and that is a huge waste.
