EPP Time Again...

Yes, it's EPP Tuesday once more... time to show off any EPP going on!

This is the current state of my Scrappy Hexy Quilt...
I'm going to add white hexy's around the outer edge... you can see where I've started... then it's going to be put away for a little while so I can focus on finishing some small items that I just want to get out of the way.

I hope you'll share your EPP projects here... it would be lovely to see what others are working on... you know you can share anything at all!
The link is in my right-hand sidebar.

On the matter of scrappy... I find it so interesting how the term gets used.
In my mind, what I'm making is definitely a scrappy project... totally random fabrics, most of which are leftovers from other sewing... completely unrelated & lacking any co-ordination between them.
I find it so curious then, that when I'm looking online at other EPP quilts, (or quilts in general) that many of them are called scrappy, yet they're made from fabrics which all come from the same range or designer; thus resulting in a very cohesive look.

As with all things creative, it reminds me that while there is general definitions of certain words & terms, we each then have our own further understanding of what they mean to us.
How good is that?! There is no 'right or wrong' it just IS!

How do you define scrappy?

Looking great - I'm with you on "scrappy" - then again I suppose a co-ordinated scrappy can still be scrappy...I think we need a new word...maybe mishmash?? LOL
But I do love your hexies.

Oh my! How that has grown!!! Your scrappy is great. I think scrappy sometimes means using from one's stash. I have found the same thing.

lovely hexies..... I'm with you on scrap projects, however I think there is also 'scrappy style' which is not necessarily scraps to me (my scraps are small pieces left over from projects)

I am with you on scrappy too - and to my mind a 'scrap' is a small piece of fabric left over from another project - not a fat quarter which is what some 'scrap quilts' call for! Your hexies are looking great - no post from me I am afraid - got too involved with my journal/sketch book while we were away and sewing took a back seat. Will be with you next time though. xx

I agree with scrappy coming from scraps of left over projects. Tradionally when clothing was also made from just cotton fabrics the scraps /leftovers were used to make quilts - thus the scrappy quilts ......however today it's based on what you initially purchase to make quilts with and I've found from the BOM aim currently in, that some people will only purchase ranges of fabrics from designers so that all scraps will work together for other projects. I'm guessing that's why some bloggers have quilt projects that always look so similar to other projects they have made - surely it must get boring after a time!
Anyhow, I've linked up with you this time and I love the progress you've made from the last photo. I'm really loving this scrappy design of yours!!!

So lovely to see how your scrappy hexagon quilt is growing.
I'm not very experienced when it comes to quilting but my personal idea of a scrappy quilt would be to use all kinds of leftover pieces of fabric. My dream is to make a scrappy quilt one day and I am collecting patterns for this purpose.

Loving your scrappy quilt, I am with you on the scrappy front. Scrappy to me means bit left over.
