'Friday Night Sew-In' for October

Gotta love the third Friday of each month... FNSI!
Wendy is wonderful to host us each month... thank you Wendy!
My Friday was an interesting one... not as much stitching got done as I had hoped for, but a few stitches are better than none.

Usually I can get a full design of these sweet little Ruth's Quilt stitcheries done on a Friday, & sometimes a bit more of the next one too... but not this time... not that I mind... it was great to see the return of so many ladies to Patch group, after the Winter months being so quiet there!

I was also a bit tired from the festivities of Thursday evening... mr17 had his Year12 Graduation... it was so very well done by the school, & of course he looked so smart & happy.
True to my reputation for emotion, I kept Kleenex in business... this is more than just him finishing school... this is a huge shift for our whole family... and for me, no longer being a School Mum... after 19 years of having kids in school, it's a huge change to my days & my identity... it's a daunting but interesting prospect.

I managed to stitch the bottom two motifs of the stitchery while at Patch group on Friday, & could only muster a little more energy to continue in the evening... off to bed at 9.30 for me, just couldn't keep my eyes open.

Be sure to check out this link to the list of other FNSI ladies & their work... I'm sure they got more done than I did!

As you say, a little stitching is better than none. I do love the colour of the thread. It will be different for you with no school kids, but given time I'm sure that you will find a new normal and think of the extra "You Time" ou wll have.

Congrats on your youngest graduating! I know how you feel.. that was me last year! It's strange not being a school mum anymore... but time soon fills up with other things! I love the thread you are using for the stitchery... xx

Congrats to Mr. 17, and to YOU!! Every little bit of stitching counts. I did some last night, but I knew I wouldn't blog about it, so I didn't sign up for FNSI.

Beautiful stitching. You will get used to no school runs or extracurricular activities, infact I was greatly relieved lol. It is when they leave the nest you will probably feel a bit sad. There is an upside.....you can take over their bedrooms hehehe. That is why I have a sewing room.

I love the colour of the thread you are using Anthea. I know what you mean about our babies finishing school. Nelson finished last Friday. My time as school mum has finished a year earlier with Nelson in Year 11 but doing Year 12 VCAL work. No more school run! xx

Every stitch counts! :) It is a big change in life when your children finish school. But wait until they all move out of the house - different yet again!

Congratulations to Mr17 - and the parents!!!
I was so relieved when school was over for my 2 girls - no more driving back and forth for early sport/music - or late sport/music and no more chasing the bus on normal days...not to mention no more school fees....

Sad not to get more stitching done - but sometimes that is just how it is.

There certainly is change coming for you but it's for the good. I'll bet you find yourself before you know it!

Love the thread you're using ... green & purple being my favorite colors, of course. See you next month!!!
