I'm Chuffed...

...with this finish!!
After the weeks I have had of being busy with work & paid sewing, I jumped at my chance to do some sewing just for me.
Last year when I was part of the COLOUR Swap, my partner Carole included some very pretty embellishments, & I recently thought of a great way to show them off. It took me a while to find the right fabrics, but I am very happy with the result.

You can see it's a very simple bag design, it took me just three sessions to make, but so lovely!
I loved the process of the gathering, pinning, top-stitching, and especially stitching the pretties to the front panel of the bag
The lining is so pretty too, made the same way as the outer. I used magnetic closures on the tabs rather than a button.

Thank You Carole for these beautiful embellishments, & for inspiring my sewing in the way you have♥
This is a cross-off for my Sew It's Finished, and an item for OPAM too, woo hoo!

Mr12 had a great first week in yr8, and the coming few days will see my two girls go to their respective Orientation Days for the start of Uni... dare I hope for a routine to re-enter my life?!
The coming few days will be a great opportunity for me to do some more sewing - we are forecast for some very hot days, so the air con will be my friend!

Gorgeous bag and embellishments. I also hope that the girls have a great first day at uni and that your son enjoys year 8. No longer the babies of the school lol as my girls put it. Enjoy your sewing this week.
