Pretty Pouch Swap - Part 2... & Birthdays

Vickie has emailed to say that she received my Pretty Pouch Swap mail.
As I had not 'met' Vickie before, I did a good bit of snoop-reading on her blog, so I hope it helped me to put together a happy swap gift...
'
I'm sure I took pics of the inside of the pouch, but I can't find them, ggrrr... I added a pocket to the interior of the pouch... always handy for something small... the Kanzashi flower can be removed if Vickie wants to do that. I have been terribly slack in using the decorative stitches on The Pfaff, so I added some to the contrast panel.
This Pretty Pouch is based on the Open Wide Zipper Pouch - I love these because they open up so well!
 ♥Thanks for a great Swap, Vickie♥
Vickie has been making quilts recently - for her Grandchildren - & oh my gosh, she is amazing, they are gorgeous... Do pop over & have a look... I say they are very lucky Grandchildren indeed!

A couple of weeks ago, it was the birthday of my blogging buddy Leanne... I sent her a little gift...
Yes, it's the same design that can be seen in the blog header pic of Fiona at BubzRugz. It's stitched in a variegated DMC thread - I quite like the very subtle variation in colours - & it was the first time in a few years that I had cross stitched on linen.
Couldn't resist sending the little birdie too - I hope he's happy in Leanne's pretty garden!
Leanne is an amazing talent with her sewing, stitching & quilt-making... & she has recently had designs published in an Australian craft mag called 'Patchwork & Stitching'.... if you've not visited her blog yet, do yourself a favour! Here's the link

There won't be much or possibly any stitching happening here over the weekend - it's Birthday time for my girls - lots going on - even at 19 the celebrating goes on for days!

I LOVE that pouch! If/when I go visit Vickie, I'll be looking for it to bring home with me. And I have the pattern for that pin cushion, but I haven't made it. Must move it to the top of the To-Do list!

Gorgeous pouch Anthea. Love the fabrics. Now I know who to ask how to make one of those dastardly Kanzashi flowers. Love the trim too.
