'Quilt & Craft Fair' Friends & Fun...

I had a wonderful day on Saturday, meeting up with my blogging friends at the Perth Quilt & Craft Fair... there was also some shopping action, but more on that later!
Get comfy, I have a LOT to share...

Perth turned on perfect weather for our day out... rainy, windy, a little cool... great for being at the Fair! I was so pleased to finally meet Lisa, we have been reading each others blogs for a while now, & it was lovely to put a face & voice to your name, Lisa...
I will name everyone from left to right of the pic: Lisa, Tracee, Sandra, me, Maria, Tracy & her sweet MissM & Julia...
It's hard to all stay together at an event like the Fair; we each had different things we wanted to see, but we fueled up on coffee & conversation before we went in... amazing the tv shows some of you watch, girls, I would never have imagined you! We met back up for lunch & more opportunity for a great chat, & to show off some of our purchases.
Despite the fact that we each differ in what our interests are, & how much of it we have time for, we are a happy group of ladies & I always love to see you all. Thank you for such a lovely day out!

Now back to that Shopping... yes, there was some done by me... my trusty bag served me well!

Don't you love the hexy print fq?! The others are for an upcoming project, as are the Christmas buttons. I needed some more thimbles, mine have seen a lot of stitching action...
I can't go past a hexy or two, so into my bag went a quilt-as-you-go table topper kit, some 5/8inch & 2inch papers, & a sweet little kit for a Christmas decoration... These are from a Perth business called The Quilt Fairy.
Can you guess what these are?! They are nail files - so clever! Two of them will be going into the Giftie Box.
Charm packs... lovely range from Deb Strain...

And now to share a totally impulsive buy... a quilt kit... everything I need to make a pretty girly quilt... isn't it gorgeous?!... I saw the sample hanging on the wall, figured I do actually have the skill to make it, & said "yep I'll have that too"... I shall have to go to Confession for failing to resist temptation, ha!
Below is my last purchase for the day... a semi-impulse buy... I had been considering buying one for a while, but wanted to see it before getting it... a great price too... It's an LED light pad, a nice big one... it will be so much easier than the bedside-lamp & piece of glass caper I have been using!
It's so light & thin (only 8mm!) and will be perfect for tracing my stitcheries. A bonus-with-purchase was the little box containing a fold-down rechargeable lamp; that will be very handy in a power failure...
The Quilt Exhibition was amazing too; I'll share some pics next post.

There was a couple of other small purchases but they are for sharing in my next post... you might want to stay tuned for that.

I had such a great day at the Fair... the BEST part was seeing my friends!
My access to being able to buy these sorts of things is pretty much nil... it's so inspiring to see the samples & all the stands look so good. It was sad to see that some stands I enjoy were not there this year; I realise it's costly for businesses to come to WA, but it does give an opportunity for local businesses to be there, which is great.
The fact that it was busy with so many people of all ages is a wonderful sign that crafting & creating of all types is still very much alive & well... And that's a really good thing!!

I am hoping to get lots of time at home in the coming week... I need it after the recent weeks I've had!

A good sized group for you - and it would never work if you all tried walking around in one group - so much better to meet for lunch and do some sharing. That light box will be a wonderful bonus for you - and the little LED lights are great too - (as long as its charged if you have a black out!!!). Love the quilt kit too - great colours...

How lovely to be able to have such a good catchup at the craft shown. Always a bonus to be able to share the day. You took home some lovely goodies too. I recently bought the A3 sized Lightbox - had been waiting, and when it was a good price I decided it needed to come home with me. The lights are great too.
