Between one thing & another, it's still slow-sewing in the Sewing Space at the moment, but I have at least been poking around with a few projects.
Last night I (finally!) put the finishing stitches to the first stitchery of Block 4, for my Red Brolly Polka Dot Girls quilt. I'm pleased with how it's turned out, & am happy to feel some enthusiasm for the project once again.... I am definitely not a Hare with this project, but being a Tortoise is not a bad thing!
The last couple of weeks have seen me make a very enjoyable start on a new project... with these beautiful fabrics... Papillon, by 3 Sisters for Moda... a fat eights pack I bought from Jennifer Reynolds when she was having a clear out a while back, & as the Site Manager is a Pap, of course they were a good purchase...
They are not the sort of fabric I would normally choose, but I do like them a lot & I think they will do very well for how I am using them.
Last year I purchased a booklet from Quilting Gallery, called Breezy Beginner Sampler Quilt. So the fat eights are now looking like this:
Using a range of fabrics is perfect for me, because I am totally hopeless in choosing fabrics for a project like this! There are 13 blocks to make, they get 'harder' as the booklet progresses. This is going to be something I work on, around other projects I have in progress. Isn't it always the way?!
I'm coming into a time of year when I don't get many work days, so it looks like more sewing time will be mine... woo hoo!
Lots of amazing projects & pics being shared in blogland at the moment... so I hope you give yourself time to go chech out your favourite blogs... see some wonderful creations & inspiration♥

I made that stitchery several years ago and I still love the words on it. Your blocks are lovely. 3 Sisters was one of my favourite fabric ranges when I first started to quilt. Hugs.....

Nice range of fabrics to make the "beginners blocks" I did them when Michelle ran it as a freebie on Quilting Gallery..
Enjoy making them.

Lovely blocks in the new fabbie range - very subtle colours and I love your Red Brolly stitchery.
That's a lovely fabric range, you are making good progress. I fret over fabric choices too, so using a range is a welcome break. Enjoy your extra sewing days, mine have just been gobbled up by more work.
You have such neat stitching skills and the colours are perfect... love it... I love the Pappilon range ... and the sampler blocks are perfect... I also did my sampler quilt in a range for the same reason.. not hard to get colours matching! Great minds think alike??? well that's what we can tell them..
Hugz
