Quilt Top Done!

I found it a bit tricky, but by the end of Monday I had managed to get the borders on my quilt top.
I. LOVE. THIS. SO. MUCH!

I want to use up as much of each birthday fq as possible, so I have come up with a way to use the remainder of the fabrics as a pieced backing, along with some extra of the purple border fabric for size. If I could lay out all the tiny bits & bobs that could not be used, it would be barely the area of a fat eighth... so I am very pleased with all that!
(And just so you know, the border fabric is most certainly PURPLE not blue as it seems to be looking in the pics.)

Having decided how to do the backing, off I went to get some more of the fabric I need... &... gasp of relief... the bolt contained EXACTLY the amount of purple I need... yay! I hope my ideas work out ok, because the backing is turning out to be more work & thinking that the front... how does that happen?!
If anyone if feeling that their MOJO is not too good right now, please let me know... it seems I have an overload!

Among all this purple & green sewing, progress is being made on my items for the Christmas In July swap... coming along very nicely...
I had a lovely time last night, visiting the list of ladies who were also celebrating the ChookShed Party, wow there was some gorgeous sewing & stitching being done... And I always love a look at a new-to-me blog!

I just noticed that my humble little blog has had more than 50,000 'views'... wow... thanks everyone who visits, Comments, Follows, & shares their wisdom & inspires me...

It's such a beautiful sunny day here, 20°C & dry... not at all feeling like winter... what's the weather doing in your part of the world??

Looking fabulous...so bright and happy...I recently used all the leftovers to piece a back and it took longer than the front, you are not alone in that...

Hello Anthea,

You clever lady, making it reversible and using up all the fabric and even getting more of the required fabric at the shop, you are a quilter.
Hard to think today was Winter once the fog lifted.
Happy days.
Bev.

Very pretty colors! And you said you weren't a quilter. Can't wait to see the back. I need to use up more of my fabrics on backs, instead of staking the leftovers in a pile.

Love your quilt top... the colours really sing. Can't wait to see how you are piecing the quilt back... no waste... what a star! I'll take a bit of your mojo if it's still on offer... hugs

gorgeous... your two borders just bring it all together.... Yes, I have pieced some backs and they do take almost as much work... but so much fun too!
