There's not been a lot of sewing or stitching time available to me in the last week or so... I'm really trying to get my Tis The Season finished... but little hurdles keep presenting themselves & slowing the process... ggrrr...
Got myself all set to start the quilting yesterday & just couldn't get it right, simple as it is. Only after a few very naughty words & threats, and several episodes of reverse quilting, did the Pfaff mysteriously resolve the thread tension problem before I figured out what was wrong.
THEN I just couldn't get my hands right & the quilt wasn't moving as it should. No good with my Matilda's gloves & bare hands were even more useless... so I hunted around in my cupboard for something else to help me... & found these:
Golly, I haven't been any kind of 'small' for about 15 years now!
These are just the right thing... the grip from the coating is really good... they're very flexible & comfy. And luckily mine are not blue like on the packaging!
I have no idea why I bought them, or maybe mrHS bought them for some yet-to-be-realised purpose, but now they are my new quilting gloves...

Clever girl you will have that quilted in no time at all.
I use those kind of gloves when I do my quilting (not that I do too much!). They work really well. Hang in there Anthea. You'll get Tis The Season finished soon! xx
Meant to be :)
Looking forward to seeing the finish xx
Hi Anthea so glad that you found those gloves they are the same as what i use, happy sewing.xx
Best to keep them for quilting.......not housework!
What's wrong with blue gloves?? Pleased the red ones work do they make you go faster lol xx
And what is wrong with blue? Anyway, glad you sorted out your problems and can crack on now. xx
Could not post a comment on your previous post? so just to say I love the quilting on your jewel quilt and I am looking forward to seeing it finished. xx
They look perfect xx
Talented AND gorgeous! :)
LOL! I know you wouldn't have been able to sew with BLUE gloves on! Those pesky Pfaff's have a mind of their own sometimes. Mine prefers using the same thread on top and bobbin, and it will NOT sew with King Tut thread. Oh, and it mostly acts up on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, when the repair shop is closed! And I'm on a deadline. Glad to hear everything finally fell into place, and you're quilting along.
Good solution to your quilting woes, Anthea!
I much prefer those gloves too... much better grip and a better price too!!!

Good to hear the problem with the tension is resolves...I sometimes wonder if there are little gremlins in sewing machines that take much pleasure from disrupting the sewing!!! Gloves look great...I use those little plastic squares you get for undoing jar tops! Work for me!!
What a great idea!
Good luck with your quilting !

Oh so only a few choice words hey...I'm very proud of you. Great idea with the gloves for that is what I use too.
I must admit to using those gloves I find they are the best for quilting when things seem to keep going wrong. Lol..
Oh and thank you I will send my address along to you Anthea.
