Joining In With New-ish Things...

Why the "ish"?! Because I've seen them but this is my first time joining in!

First up is the 'Word Photo Challenge 2016' hosted by Sharyn at Alsha's
Space
... each week, Sharyn gives her readers a word, & they're to post their own take on that word, using the linky at Sharyn's blog.
I confess, I have loved following this for ages now, but this is the first time I've posted... I've been particularly inspired by Sue, who is a regular participant.

The word this week is BREAD... so I took this pic this morning, before filling it with chicken & salad for mr15's lunch.
Word Photo Challenge 2016 - Week 2 - BREAD
Thank you Sharyn, & I look forward to sharing some more pics as the year progresses!

The other thing I'm finally getting into is 'Gifted Gorgeousness', hosted by Jo at Serendipitous Stitching. This is a great linky to encourage us to use, make, stitch & finish on the crafty stuff we've been given. More info can be found here.

I have a few things in my Overload that I can work on & share that fit the criteria... most of you will have seen my Frangipani cross stitch... it was purchased with a gift card, so when it's finished it will indeed be a Gorgeous piece of gifti-ness!

Thank you Jo & I look forward to sharing my progress.

Returning to my iron disaster (you can read about it here)... To remove the melted synthetic fabric, I just put the iron on Cotton setting then wiped it off after it had melted. There was already some old build-up on the plate too, so I used this>>>

Wish I'd thought to take a before pic of my iron, to show you the difference this product has made... I can highly recommend it... it's obviously not a 'green' cleaner, however having read online that lots of folks try 'green' options & don't have success, I just went for the supermarket product.
It only left the merest of smells somewhat like lanolin & no residue at all.

The plate now looks almost back to new!

The hot weather last week was such a lemon, so I made lemonade by way of washing the heavy stuff... doonas, blankets, jackets/winter warmies, dog bedding... all saving me a heap of $$ on dry cleaning!

The Site Manager is off work injured at the moment...

He's had some terrible neck soreness but is responding well to the meds the Vet gave him... good thing that not much work is happening on the Great Backyard Project this week, he'd miss not sitting at the back door watching them work & barking orders... sad to see him out of sorts, but he'll be back to his cheery self soon I'm sure!

It's always nice having encouragement to finish off "things"... I'm travelling along nicely with my 2016 scrap challenge too. Great FuN playing in the weekly adventure of photo sharing.
Fingers crossed for your site manager too. xox

Loved reading your blog. I hope that puppy is feeling better and makes a full recovery. I know your iron cleaner product well - I always have a tube in the house, and use it regularly. It is great!

Sorry to hear about the site manager - so sad when the four legged family members aren't well.
Take care, stay cool
