My sewing has gone to the dogs! But not in the way you'd think.
I recently unearthed this fun cotton drill... it was one of those "I'm looking for something else" finds... the fabric was perfect for making a new plastic bag keeper for my pantry.
Some measurements were taken, based on the old one... some sewing & pressing & elastic happened... & whoo-hoo I love the new one!
Just look at the oh-so tragic state of the old one... it was given to me in 1993!
Yes, I see y'all gasping at how disgusting it looks😉
Three keepers were made... I had cut across the width of the fabric to accommodate the directional print... the decision was easy, just use it all up, instead of having an odd-shaped fabric piece left over.
The remaining two will be gifted or sold.
Something so simple & useful, but a little fun for the pantry!

These see like such a good idea. I keep me in a box!may have to rethink my storage for this type.
Cute fabric... I've been putting off making a new one as I am hoping to have no more plastic bags soon... I carry my own shopping bags now and avoid the plastics...
Very cute fabric. Funny i was thinking yesterday i should make a plastic bag holder since my cupboard is stuffed with them. :). Open your blog today & you've made 3. They look great. Hugs,xx
Those look great... I totally agree if yoiu are making one you may as well use up all the fabric and make as many as possible. Your old one served you well... it has led a good life...

Great idea. We all use these.
Oh the new one is so much better than the old one!!! What a great sewing session you had! I really need to make a few more of those for here, my other ones are in Oz... xx
The less said the better I think!! Great make on the new one. xx
They look great and what a wonderful use of fabric.
Well, aren't you the clever one! THat fabric really is cute. DO you just stuff your bags in, or do they have to be folded a certain way?
Love the fabric you have used...great to get the three made, looking at the old one it has had a lot of use.
Well done! They are a great handy idea. I made a few last Christmas.
A great idea, such a plastic bag holder. My bags are spread all over the pantry, so I have to go and see if I have a piece of fabric to make one myself. It shouldn't be difficult to find one in my fabric stash, lol.
