Last FNSI For 2017...

What a great way to finish the stitchy year... an evening of stitching unity with friends!
Wendy continues to be a fun & friendly host, despite the challenges that life has thrown her during 2017... thankyou Wendy for your fab Friday evenings each month xx

My FNSI was a snatched bit of time here & there during the day... continuing to cut more little squares...

And here are some strips ready for the next cutting session...

And this is how all the squares are stored until I use them... can you tell I like order & system?!
I don't really like the idea of just throwing them in a tub... being such small pieces, I want to preserve the edges so they don't become so frayed I can't sew with them!

I also finished stitching the final two rows of this block together:

Feels like I didn't get much done, but I fitted it between taking The Site Manager to his Spa appointment, having my nails done, doing the last Christmas shopping & being a strong should for someone who needed it.

Most of you are smart enough to realise that I'm not much good at 'scrappy'... even though some of my work could be understood in that way, I always seem to create some kind of order or pattern somewhere. (or perhaps that's only apparent to me?!)

Well, this little non-scrapper is going to break out of that Comfort zone during 2018... I have firm plans for 2 projects so far that will use these darling little squares... they will progress throughout the year & hopefully result in a wonderful use of the bits & pieces that have been captive in tubs for years with no hope of release!

One of my projects is going to a be quilt using the Arkansas Crossroads block, which some of you may also have seen as a quilt called Goodnight Irene. It looks like THIS.

I also am going to join in stitching along with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, which is hosted by SoScrappy. It looks like a fun way to sew the 'colour of the month', gradually working towards reducing the scrap tubs.

I really just look forward to using up these bits & pieces... & hopefully my efforts result in a few lovely projects.

As the 4th Tuesday of this month is Boxing Day, there will be no 'Piece Yourself Together' linky, and we'll be resuming on the 9th of January.

Two great projects to use your little (or not so little) collection of squares. They should be nice cheerful quilts. Have you decided on a pattern for the rainbow challenge? I’ve been thinking of joining in this year. Maybe doing a log cabin. We’all see.

Lots of tiny squares there Anthea, such a great way to use up your bits and pieces of scrap fabric in your tub. I should consider something like that. I'm looking forward to seeing your projects during the year..

Oh and I love how you have organised them into little packets, I would do the same, I also put my partial completed projects into zip envelopes..
