Progress Report on "Ruth's Quilt"

Just realised that I've not really given a good update on my progress with this beautiful & enjoyable project!
I've added all these since mid-October... I've probably featured most of them in blog posts along the way since then, but wow it's lovely to see them all together like this.
All from just a few hours of stitching every Friday... & sometimes a Saturday too.

This 'take the time to dream' design is especially good... This to me also means: take the time to slow down, & think about what's important & precious. Reflect.
It seems we live in a must-be-busy world these days... Dreaming, choosing slow, reflecting, meditating, whatever you do... It's well-documented to be of benefit to our minds & bodies.
Do YOU take the time to dream?

In accordance with my original plan, I've worked my way backwards through the odd-numbered stitcheries for this project... now I'm working my way forwards through the even-numbered ones... what strange person thinks of doing something like that?!
Regardless, they will all get stitched & I'm loving every single one of them!

Well, my DD-Y departed on Monday 22nd for her new town... there have been a couple of small hiccups with the unit she will be living in... but she is taking it all like the Champ she is.
This coming week will be a big one for her... not only will she officially start work, but her Stuff will finally be delivered & she can 'set up home'. Certainly very different at her at home without her!

Your stitcheries are beautiful Anthea, I dont think you are strange, always interesting to choose your own way of doing things. Best wishes to DD Y.

They really are nice stitcheries. The different fabrics will add interest to your quilt. I hope everything goes well for your daughter over the next little while.

What lovely little blocks! I'm sure I've asked before, but can you tell me more about the quilt? Is it something I NEED to make? Good luck to DD as she enters this next chapter of her life.

I really like these 'tags' Anthea and anticipate the finished quilt. Your daughter will do well - you raised her to do so. :)

Your stitcheries are lovely. A great achievement over a few Friday nights. You will miss your daughter but take solace in knowing you have done your job well as a mum for her to have the confidence to set sail on her own life journey.

Great blocks... and yes we all need to take time to dream. Hope all goes well for your daughter's move and as one mum to another with a DD far away I feel your pain.

Thank you Anthea, I so enjoyed being a part of your Australia Day Swap again this year. Oh how I love the poem "Our Country" wherever did you find it ? I hope your daughter settled in to her first week at work and is enjoying it.
