A Little Stitching & Scraps...

And I do mean little...
I've made a little more progress on my Christmas Angel cross stitch... the star is finished & I'm working my way to finishing the top part of her dress. Funny how the shading of the pinks is more noticeable in the pic than when I just look at it...
... also basted about 100 hexy's for my Tea Party Table Runner... and finally traced up the stitcheries for Happy Christmas Cushion.

Aside from wishing I had done a bit more stitching in the last week or so, I have had a great week. My 14yo nephew took some time from his Perth-based holiday & spent a few days with us, which we all loved especially mr12.
mrHS has been stripping paint off the ceiling of our lounge/dining area, so we have been 'picnic eating' all week. He's doing a stellar job, but his hands are suffering, & he's glad that part of the job is almost done.

Now to scraps... my scrap box had a real bad hernia
No my Christmas deco's are NOT still  out, this pic is 10 days old!!
so I sorted them out and have finally decided I should actually do something with them rather than just hoard them. So hello items made of many small pieces. I am not a many-small-pieces girl, but I will give it a go... Suggestions welcome...please!

Your cross sitch is looking great. You could always make hexagons with your scraps!! Seriously, there are lots of scrap quilts out there to try and what about log cabin?

Stripping paint off the ceiling - what a dreadful job!!! :(
Your stitchery is coming along nicely. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create with your 'many small pieces'. :)

boy, basting all those hexies is quite a bit of stitching. your cross stitch is coming along, slow and steady....
There are lots of scrap quilts around at the moment. I like Lin's suggestion of making hexies.

There must be something about this time of year that makes scrap and fabric boxes explode.........my space is such a mess I can hardly get to the table. Little pieces can be fun, they give you so much more time sewing than big pieces!l

Your cross stitch is coming along well. Slowly but surely things get done. When I have lots of scraps I make little I-spy runners, table clothes etc.
Cheers, Anita.

Sounds like you've also done lots of sewing prep ... makes for fast progress later.
I'm hoping to turn some scraps into a tumbler quilt and also a tumbling blocks quilt ... one day :)

Ooh, that stitchery looks interesting, can't wait to see more. I've recently made some log cabin blocks with my scraps, and of course, more hexies!

Oh how I feel for Mr HS at the moment lol. I will also be thinking of him as he rolls fresh paint over it 3 or 4 times too. Painting and maintenance is in my domain here. Love seeing your cross stitch come together too. Mum is currently cutting 21/2" squares from her scraps for another scrappy quilt.

Mum also has a 11/2" box on the go to for a postage stamp quilt. Very daunting project that one lol.

Your cross stitch is looking great, its very time consuming but you'll get there.

That is one big hernia your scrap box has suffered. I hate to state the obvious but you could always get a bigger box and ignore the scraps for a while longer. Job done! ;o) Love your cross stitch Angel. You basted so many hexies and traced patterns... sound like you had a good week.

So much happening here, your cross stitch is looking great.....
Time for some surgery on that hernia, may require a scalpel, or at the very least a rotary cutter!
