A Winner & A Baby On The Way...

Oops, I am a day late on drawing a name for the giveaway... I really enjoyed reading about the great purchases made at Shows... light boxes & fabrics are a popular buy!
The winner drawn from my container of names is...Nicky of Farm Girl Stitching... Nicky can you please send me your mailing address so I can get this little parcel in the mail to you...

Now, to the baby... yes there is one on the way...a niece or nephew to be born in about 3 weeks... (did I scare ya?! after me having two back ops, I absolutely would scare myself!!)
So I have dived into my Overload, and dug out two cot panels that have been waiting to be made.
As no one (including the parents) knows the gender of this bundle of joy, you can see I am preparing for both possibilities. And yes Maria, the binding will be fully machine sewn!
My 'Aunty tradition' is to make a quilt & a Christmas pressie bag for Santa to fill, so that's going to keep the Pfaff humming in the next few weeks. I do make the quilt '4 wheel drive', ie prepared for all conditions & situations, no heirloom items here...
I was forgetting just how awkward it is to pin the layers together when they are on the floor... good thing I committed to pinning them both on the same night, or else I would have chickened out of doing the 2nd one due to sore knees & back... I will enjoy making these, pretending for a short time that I have any kind of quilt-making abilities...

It's been so very cold but relatively clear here in the last few days... the Site Manager has the right idea... make like a solar panel & collect warmth...
He needs a good brushing!

Welcome to my new Followers, I hope you will come by again... & perhaps leave a Comment so I can visit your blog too.

I agree with Fiona - fun to have a reason to make baby quilts. :) I should find out what my grandie is soon. My daughter is finding out when they do her scan. :) My kitties do what you site manager is doing. They love basking in the sun. Hugs,xx.

Congratulation Nicky on your win.
Thanks Anthea for running the giveaway...

Love the two panels for the Baby Quilts..Can't you pin on a table??? I am lucky and do my pinning in the club rooms on FOUR trestle tables. Oh pleased you are machine sewing the bindings, LOL.

Site manager does look happy on his warm bed. I bought one like it for Lacy @ $4.50.. Great buy ..

The baby quilt panels look great, do you machine quilt them ? I so want to learn to machine quilt but am scared to start in case I stuff something up. Mine are just very simple. I quilted (my style) and machine binded a quilt on the weekend which I will BLOG about later today. I brought it into work last week and pinned it on the board room table, there is no way I can kneel especially on hard tiled floors. It was very easy to do and I will be doing this in future also - whilst I am still working, after that - not sure :-)
