Lovely Sunday...

Today I went to a Craft Show in Perth... met up with my bloggy buddy Tracee - Quilt Kitty... we had a great wander around & made a few purchases... & lots of chatting of course!

... Some of what I bought...

Paw-print & pink Aida for cross stitching... & a piece of evenweave fabric (also for cross stitch)which I've never stitched on, but how hard could it be?! Don't you love the Christmas doggy print...

YAY!! I finally found some HIBISCUS fabric...

 got some gorgeous trims too...

Tracee & I were just about to go in search of some lunch when I spotted a fabulous bag someone was carrying... I recognised that bag as the very one made recently by the lovely Bev (Kainga Happenings blog)... so we introduced ourselves & had quite the chat... Bev is just as lovely in person as I thought she would be!
(You will just have to believe me with all this, as I forgot to take any pics until I was almost ready to leave the venue, silly me!)

And what a great way to keep the men happy, there was a Woodwork Show in an adjacent building... lots of great things there too, if you are into that sort of thing. Tracee & I were swooning over the gorgeous furniture, & incredible timber surfboards, YES surfboards, among other things there.

My final purchase was this great pendant, made of different types of timbers... I love the fact that it's not symmetrical... the colours are really 'me'

On our way out, we stood outside & watched some of the equipment being demonstrated for the woody-minded men... perhaps this is the blokes equivalent of a long-arm quilting machine... or one super-duper sized rotary cutter!! (Watch out Sharon!)
Be sure to stop by Tracee's blog soon & see her pics... you might even see a wood-cutting version of 'stack & slash'...
It was great to spend some time with Tracee again... so good in fact, that we completely forgot to go see the quilt display, oops!

You can see that we got a beautiful sunny day, it was 22°C I think... gosh, this had better not be signs of spring, we've only had about 5 minutes of winter!!

After a challenging week last week, I'm hoping this week will be kinder to me... my voice is improving, I'm feeling fine & there's some DVDs I'm keen to watch... and blog reading to catch up on!

~*~ Have A Great Week ~*~

By the looks and sounds of it, you and Tracee had a lovely day out!! ... Evenweave is lovely to use!! Just remember to mark out a 10 x 10 grid when you use it (if doing a medium-large project) as it can easily get confusing :) With Evenweave you are going over two threads for every one hole you would use with aida ... it is easier to do half & quarter stitches though using it :) The angel cross-stitch I showed a little while back is on even weave :) I personally much prefer it, both for the look and feel it gives to projects ... but then I'm one of those insane cross-stitchers who can't cope with doing 'simple' projects, lol! Give me an intermediate to experienced pattern any day!! Takes longer, but looks oh-so-fabulous!! You will love it!! :)

The problem with being away from home is that it takes ages to catch up on blogs. How lovely to visit the craft show with a bloggy friend and then meet another one. Your new pendant is amazing.
