Friday Night Sew In for September

My FNSI for this month happened during the day, rather than the evening... perhaps I was not on my own in doing it this way?... Social commitments of teenagers were going to interrupt the evening...
It was a great couple of hours I spent sewing, not that there is a lot to show, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
I hope our wonderful host, Wendy at Sugarlane Designs, didn't mind me arriving early...

Quite by no plan at all, I found myself doing some free-styling on the Pfaff with some little scraps... I actually got out my Christmassy-coloured fabrics for another reason, which I have now forgotten...

This little decoration was made with strips cut at 3/4inch & it's 3 1/4inches square. I used vlisofix (spelling?) to fuse it to a piece of backing fabric... I think it's rather cute...
When I was sewing these, mr13 (home sick, again) was perched next to me, quite interested in the makings... he is doing a sewing unit at school at the moment, & brought home his newly-finished softie FROG the other day... quite a challenging project for a first-time sewer, don't you think?! Anyway, I digress...

The other item I made, I'll call it a 'door hanger', is a bit bigger than I wanted it... but kinda cute.
Lots of fiddling & pressing to make such little things, but I did enjoy it all!

Thanks for having over 50 of us at your place Wendy♥

If you are making Christmas gifts & stashing them away for December, why not consider linking them up with Christmas Through The Year?! Everything you need to know is on the tab up top, & everyone is welcome... As usual, I have a little prize to give away to one lucky person this month... & also as usual, I have not started my item... oops, well at least I have a few days... the linky tool will be available from Thursday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend & that you get to do something you enjoy...

Lovely Christmas stitching going on there. It is good to do some small unplanned little projects sometimes isnt it. Hope your son is feeling ok now. Hmmm. a frog sounds quite a challenge for a new sewer.

Hi Anthea. How are you going? I love that you have started doing some Christmas stuff already. i saw in a shop yesterday that there is only 13 weeks until Christmas and I have to admit I panicked! I would love to join your Christmas Through the Year group but at the moment don't have enough time. Maybe next year. Happy stitching. Cheers, Tracy.
